Migo Software Makes It Easy to Leave No Trace

July 31, 2007 By: Migo Software Category: Migo Software

It’s not often that you can compare going online with taking a trip into the woods. However, there is one spot where the two overlap: in both, it’s best to leave no trace.

For hiking and wandering through the woods, it’s a matter of not leaving trash behind and preserving the trails - keeping the beauty for others who want to experience it later. It’s a matter of protecting nature.

With computers, however, leaving no trace is a different matter altogether: leaving no trace means that you should be able to keep your private documents private, your email and internet settings and passwords safe - while still getting your work done.

Migo Software’s MigoSync makes it easy to leave no trace - whether you’re checking your own accounts at work from a flash drive, working on documents for work at home or on the road or using a loaner PC while yours is in the shop.

With MigoSync, you won’t have to worry about whether or not your information is available and safe; you’ll know that it is.

Can Data Encryption Keep Your Documents Safe?

July 30, 2007 By: Migo Software Category: Data Encryption

When you connect to your email on the web, date encryption security helps to keep those who shouldn’t know your password or your mailbox contents from getting through. Data encryption keeps those without access from opening files at a business.

Can data encryption keep your documents safe? If it can keep other information secure, why wouldn’t it be able to?

With a data encryption program like Migo Software’s Digital Vault, you’ll be able to:

  • password protect important files,
  • encrypt files as well as email attachments,
  • encrypt your files on external hard drives and portable flash drives, and
  • make secure backups of all of your files.

Each of these tools will enable you to keep your files for your eyes - and the eyes of those who you choose to share the files with - only.

In other words, yes, data encryption can keep your documents safe - as well as your spreadsheets, file backups, presentations and more.

Want to Schedule an Easy PC Backup?

July 29, 2007 By: Migo Software Category: PC Backup

There are times when it’s easy to focus on what you need to do.

When students are focused on preparing a major research paper, for example, most remember to save the document and many go a step further and back it up onto a cd or flash drive just in case.

Similarly, business professionals who are working on specific projects tend to remember to perform a backup of all of their important data.

But there are times when it’s harder to remember to perform a PC backup: when you’re getting ready to travel, when you’ve been making a lot of changes to your preferences or you’re thinking about trying a new ISP. At these times, it would be great to schedule a PC backup that you wouldn’t have to think too much about.

When you perform a regularly scheduled PC backup, you can be sure that all of your files and settings will remain accessible - even if you’ve recently changed them. You’ll know that - whether you backup to an eternal harddrive, a flash drive or a CD or DVD - you’ll still be able to get to your important files, even if your computer crashes or is in the shop.

It’s easy to remember to backup your PC if you’ve got a major project going on. It’s harder to remember when it seems like you’re only doing day to day stuff. By scheduling regular PC backups, however, you can be sure that you’ll always have access to the information you need - without having to plan ahead.

July 28, 2007 By: Migo Software Category: XP to Vista

How much time did you spend setting up Outlook or Outlook Express on XP so that it would work exactly the way that you wanted it to? Chances are good, that it was enough that you’re not feeling great about doing it again when you go from XP to Vista.

This is also going to be the case for your Microsoft Office settings - from Word to Powerpoint and Excel - and you creative software like Photoshop or Dreamweaver. It takes a while to get your software settings to a place where they’re familiar and intuitive - set in a way that’s right for you.

Software settings are a reason why many are reluctant to go from XP to Vista. So are general desktop settings. But there’s no good reason to worry about losing your software settings when you go from XP to Vista - at least not when you know about Migo Software.

Migo Software’s XP to Vista suite allows you to easily move all of your software settings when you upgrade your operating system. Not only that, but it makes it simple to transfer all of your system settings and documents - making it so that you don’t lose a thing.
