Task Manager Tip
This is a tip for when Word crashes - use Task Manager to close Word rather than the usual top right “x” icon (access Task Manager by hitting ctrl-alt-delete at the same time).
The reason for this is that when Word crashes, the Winword.exe file may very well still be open - if that occurs and you attempt to re-open Word post-crash, you get a system conflict and Word will not re-open.
Following this procedure will save you scratching your head when you’re trying to use the AutoSave feature to recover a lost document after a crash.
